Moonlit beach (D1 Late Evening, Open)

[Milo Whitewood]

The boy stayed where he was to not give the small monster a fright. Even Diva wisely, for once, stayed where she was.

"That's great. You've known her always then. She must trust you a lot. What's it like being with a Deluzo?"

[Ari]

"She's amazing." she smiled brightly. "For all her shyness, she's infinitely curious. She wants to see everything and learn new things. We're very similar. But, she still surprises me, all the time."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Oh wow. She sounds really smart!" Milo was impressed. Diva only paid attention to people and threats. She wasn't naturally curious in a general sense. She could also be pretty, well, dumb.

"This is my first time meeting one. Diva is usually very defensive around wild monsters when we're traveling so I don't get to meet as many as I'd like."

[Ari]

"I'm hoping to explore the area a bit." she said. "Hopefully, I can observe a few more local monsters, like the one out in the water."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Me too!" Milo happily states. "I actually got to speak to a local trainer and they let me in on all the monsters in the area. Would you like to hear about it?" He asks, looking up to Ari from where he was crouched down.

[Ari]

"Yes, please." She smiled and gestured to the beach chairs. "I'd love to hear more."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Good idea." Milo motions Diva to follow as he moved to the closest beach chair. This is offered to Ari and he takes the nearest one to that.

"I spoke to a woman called Chandra who will be competing with her Scovine Arsenio. Um, she mentioned there are Chasma and Treconda in the swamp, but I think everyone knows that. She said that to the South you can find Nappen, Staguar, Zephid and Taichen, but she warned me that Taichen are pretty dangerous. I'd like a Staguar or a Nappen as a companion. What else..." He down as he recalled the earlier conversation.

"Around town you can sometimes see Panchin causing problems and she's seen Gympix sometimes, but she didn't know if they were wild or owned. She also guessed there are Womburn as there are removal services for them. So, quite a lot. Then there was that Importle just now."

[Ari]

She sat down and Llyan immediately leapt onto her lap.

"Oh, I didn't realize there'd be so many. I'm very curious to see them now."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Me too! I've seen some of them before from a distance, but it's not the same. I'm really surprised at how different the monsters here are to the forests in Amoria."

[Ari]

"Until we started traveling, I was only familiar with the monsters my parents tended to." she explained. "They were from all over. So I've seen a lot. But, I'd never seen where they were from."

[Milo Whitewood]

"My parents ran a ranch so I'm the same. I only saw domesticated monsters, or, well, as domesticated as some can be. Not wild ones in their natural habitats." His attention drifted to Llyan. "What sort of habitats are Deluzo native to?"

[Ari]

"The desert." She scratched Llyan affectionately. "There are theories that they cause mirages."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Oh wow. So, they're common in countries like Sargaros?" Milo queries with rapt interest.

[Ari]

"I don't know about common." she answered. "My understanding is that they are difficult to catch. They are very wary of people, but they do like sweets."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Like... candy?" He tapped the pockets of his jeans to see if he had any on him.

[Ari]

"Or fruit." she said. Llyan sat up, sensing the discussion of treats.

[Milo Whitewood]

"I have some soft candy?" Half a pack of fruit gums, only opened that morning, are fished from his pocket. He peels off more of the packaging to expose three round candies in bright colours. "Would you like some?"

[Ari]

Llyan leapt from Ari's lap to Milo's side, looking up at him expectantly.

[Milo Whitewood]

Since Ari hadn't voiced any objections Milo plucked one of the sweets, a bright red one, from the pack. It is promptly offered to the small monster. "Here you go." He glanced to Ari, smiling.

[Ari]

She smiled and nodded. Llyan quickly snatched the treat and dashed beneath Ari's chair.
