Monster Wrangler

It was overcast so it certainly wasn't sunny. However, it wasn't too cold and Milo had fancied a swim. He'd changed into his swimming trunks and taken a towel and a beach ball to the beach to enjoy himself with Diva.

Alas, the Warwolf seemed more interested in chasing after seagulls and parading itself around other beach goers than entering the water or playing ball.

Diva could be like that sometimes.

Paying it little mind, Milo stretched near the sunbed he'd claimed with his towel. He'd always been told to stretch before going for a swim.

Ashley was coming by pushing a baby carriage. She was in a nice one-piece and wearing a sun-hat. She notices Milo and walks by and waves.

Milo lifts a hand slowly to wave back. It took him a moment to recognise Ashley from the store because today she was in a one-piece and with a baby carriage.

"Um, hey." He greets her, pausing his stretching. "Wait up. Are you also here for a swim?"

"Hey Milo." From the baby carriage, a glowing tube with teeth pokes head out while a sparkling wasp like creature flies up and lands on Agatha's head, causing her hair goes all static electricity. Ashley gives a small sigh. "I was taking Mr. Wiggles and Miss Sparkles out for a walk. I haven't decided about a swim yet."

"Oh. Okay." He glanced between Ashley, which was the name he knew, and her two monsters. "Is Mr. Wiggles still hurt?"

"No. He just liked the carriage so much, I couldn't help but get him one with the reward from helping clear out the chasma nests." Ashley petted him. Mr. Wiggles glows a happy blue and yellow. Miss Sparkles buzzes the she was there for that.

"Nice. He's, uh, really lucky." Spoilt. Milo had enough tact not to say that aloud. "He looks like he likes it a lot. And, this is Miss Sparkles?" He hadn't met Ashley with her monsters before, so he didn't know if this one was new or not. "Good name choice." Milo utterly has to acknowledge that.

Yes. Mr. Wiggles was spoiled. he deserved it. Just ask him. "Thanks! I caught her last night. I figured if I can't win a tourney battle, I can show my wrangler cred by catching a new monster. I'll be honest. I didn't realize there were vesparks in the swamp until she came up to my bait."

"Wow! Really?!" Milo perked right up as Ashley revealed she'd caught a new monster only the day before. "That's great! A Vespark? Neat! What's she like?"

"She's pretty easy going so far which is kinda rare for a vespark. They can be a little high strung." Ashley makes some of clucking noise and holds her hand out. Miss Sparkles flies to her hand, so Milo can get a better look. "It took me a few tries. I tried to bond a chasma on the first day but failed. The second time, I messed up setting the bait. Then, I tried again, and it worked!" Ashley was pretty proud of her achievement. "My grandpa's first monster was a vespark, so I feel like it's meant to be."

"I've read they're usually aggressive, but she doesn't seem that way at all." Milo states in agreement. He took the opportunity to move closer and get a better look at her. He also glanced at Mr. Wiggles, who he hadn't seen so closely before either.

"I guess it's good to be persistent. I failed with some bait a couple of days ago. Hmm. I should try again I guess. She's really cool."

"Thanks!" Mr. Wiggles hisses as Mis Sparkles flies back to her spot on Ashley's head, again, making her hair full of static electricity. Ashley then picks Mr. Wiggles up. to show Milo. "He wants to show off too." Mr. Wiggles begins glowing a variety of colors.

Diva was watching the light display with increasing interest. It was dazzling.

"Wowie! He's going all out huh? What a good monster. Did you say what species he is?" Milo moved around to get a better look at Mr. Wiggles' colours. "He's like a wiggly disco ball."

"He's a Kleeth. They're a pretty rare vermin from Rosalia. My grandpa sent me his egg when I got my record deal." Agatha was proud of him. Mr. Wiggles, like Diva, loved the attention.

"Oh cool. What a great gift... for, um... your record deal?" Clearly, Milo had lived under a rock or something up to now.

"Oh. I'm a singer. I'm actually here as part of promoting the tour I'm going on."

"That's, like, so amazing." Milo practically had stars in his eyes. Then he feels ignorant and bad about the fact. "I didn't know. I'm really sorry."

"No need to be sorry. Most places I go, it's for my career. It's nice to have someone just talk to me being me." Ashley gives a confused look. "If that makes sense." She thinks she knew what she meant.

"Think so. Like, instead of going fan crazy? Yeah?" Milo nods, thinking he has it. "No, I think you're safe around me. I'm from Amoria so I don't know what's popular here. I don't have a radio either. Um, not that I don't want to hear your songs. I just don't know much about music."

"Yeah. I don't have quite have anyone going fan crazy yet." Yet. "But yeah. You get it."
