Character Creation

General Guidelines
Players should create Wranglers as described in the Monster Wrangler core rules. This includes selecting two Abilities for your Wrangler, up to three Perks, up to three Flaws, and choosing a single Juvenile monster as their starter monster.
By default, Wranglers are Juveniles. If you wish to play an Adult character (which includes mature teenagers), make sure to pick up the Adult Perk. Both Juveniles and Adults are perfectly acceptable in this game!
Please note whether your character is a Competitor (which is strongly encouraged) or a Spectator (if you're not going to be able to play in any matched but still want to hang out and RP).
Background Considerations
If you wish to form connections to another PC before the game begins, please keep in mind that real life events might force either yourself or the other person to drop. It is perfectly fine to make a character that has exchanged letters to another or who has encountered another character before, but please do not set up things in such a way that if your partner drops, your character will lose their motivation (and visa versa).
This game revolves around "The Oceanside Rumble" tournament, but participating in the tournament is optional. If you wish to have your character spectate the event, that's perfectly fine, too!
Application Process
Once your character is finished, send the completed character sheet and background to Mindshred@hotmail.com. Then, register an account on this side under your character's name. All character sheets should follow the format listed below; those that do not will be returned unread and unapproved.
Once we've looked over your character, we'll activate your account and send you an email. We won't be starting the game until our launch date, but we'll open up the OOC boards a few days before then so that everyone can get settled into place.
You will also be given a private forum, which will contain a copy of your character sheets for both yourself and your monster; only you and the GMs will be able to access this forum. Your private forum is yours to use as you see fit. It is the easiest way to contact and hold discussions with the GMs, but you can also use it to make personal notes.
Posting Styles
When you speak in character, please use quotation marks to do so, without using colored text. If you wish to add an OOC comment on your post, please do so via parenthesis at the very end of your post.
Signatures
Signatures are a great way to convey information about your character to others at a glance.
Your character's signature should include whether they are Juvenile or Adult, any Perks or Flaws that would be readily noticeable (i.e., Famous, Infamous, or Large), and any items that your character carries around with them. You may optionally include which nation your character is from, if you wish.
Your signature should also list your character's Bonded monsters, by name and species.
If your character dies, please do not delete your signature, as it makes things confusing for people who read through threads after the game is over. Adding a note about the day your character died is perfectly acceptable.
See the following post for an example of proper signature formatting.
