Monster Wrangler

Mara wandered a short ways in to the marsh with her staguar racing alongside her. 'Okay, Blitz. Time to be serious. We need to make a friend, which means you may need to fight and teach it some manners.'

Mara pulled out the cooking kit in the first clearing they arrived at, and mixed a strips of dried meat, water and some canned fish. The idea was to make the smelliest, meatiest, mix that might appeal to anything predatory and set it out to wait.

Blitz lowered herself in the darkness to the side ready to intervene and bloody something up if it dare attack Mara.

And now we wait.... all night if need be.

craft cooking with kit: 3 successes, assuming its just super simple mashing various meats and fish together, use the extra successes to make High Quality really appetizing mash

Blitz, 15 feet from the bowl, 15 feet left of Mara using Stalker; Mara 25 feet from bowl back towards where she entered the marsh

Mara sat and waited as the pungent scent filled the air.

After awhile, a small shape could be seen moving across the marsh, keeping low as it crept up on the bait. The wind shifted direction, leaving the creature downwind as it settled down into an attack stance.

The creature slowly crept forward, keeping low to the ground. In the moonlight, it seemed to look like a chicken... albeit a chicken with very long and sharp claws on its arms, instead of feathers.

Difficulty is equal to the monster's Wp, so 2 in this case. That's enough to give it a basic command.

'Come here you lil murder chicken, easy... more food if you come with me.' Mara kept her voice soft and gestured to the dish a few times. Success plus 2 raises, spending for bond?

The Taichen settles down a bit and shuffles over toward the food.

Mara reaches over and tentatively pets the Taichen. "Hey, little guy or are you a girl?" Mara leans down to double check. "It's okay, Blitz come on out."

'Why don't we call you... hrm...' Mara looked at the taichen who was busy devouring the food, 'Talia?' Mara waited til all the food was gone before heading back with both of them to the stables for the night.

(Whoops missed the personality, glad it's a female as most competitors, if not all, competitors have male monsters)
