A small table was set up near the arena for the three commentators to discuss the fight and offer their commentary for the fans watching on television.

"Welcome back to The Oceanside Rumble. I'm Jason Brooks, here with Citaly Velasco and up-and-coming popstar Ashley Elle. Our second match of the day involves Fiadh versus Felix Lang. This match really looks to be a battle of titans, doesn't it? Fiadh's Maguana really put up a good fight yesterday, and Felix's Temprill essentially intimidated his opponent into a concession."

(Other people are welcome to post their characters watching the fights in this thread as well.)

Whether she'd won or list her prior bout, Calico was unabashedly partisan this time.

Fiadh was borderline feral and generally just shy of hostile, while Felix was a pleasant conversationalist.

So she was rooting for Suramu.

"I know from experience that Riki is a fierce fighter." Mr. Wiggles hisses something from his baby carriage. "Mr. Wiggles agrees. He is tough. I didn't get to see Suramu fight yesterday, so this going to be an interesting match." Ashley gives Mr. Wiggles some pets which seems to be what he really wanted.

Mara had had a rather odd experience with Fiadh on the beach, that still left her stomach churning when she thought about it. It was pretty nightmare inducing and she had indeed thought of that crack and pop and sizzle... that terrible insectoid smile...Ugh. None of it was right. Why even eat that? I would have fed her, or the hotel staff or hell..he'll... catch a fish.

Though, something about her reminds me of a hurt monster. How they get all defensive and protect their injuries. She has a maguana and they are supposed to be really difficult to handle. I'm pretty sure she's a really good person deep down.

Mara's two monsters relaxed on either side of her. Blitz kept looking from the monsters in the stadium squaring off over to Orlok. The murder chicken was thankfully taking a short nap.

I haven't gotten a chance to see Felix and his Temprill yet. I don't have much knowledge of the brutes.

"Very true, Ashley." Jason nods in agreement. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you have a song about a Temprill? I can't recall the name, but it had a bit of a country music vibe to it, very different from your usual library. What was the story behind that?"

Milo was watching this match too. How far would the Temprill get? That Maguana looked very intimidating! It'd be a good match, certainly.

Jason turns from Ashley as there's a burst of movement in the arena.

"Look at that! The Temprill, Sumaru, has managed to slip away from its opponent and retreat back to Felix's side for some quick healing. Ladies and gentlemen, I am on the edge of my seat!"

At the final results, Mara stood and cheered both her monsters adding some congratulatory sounds.

Ah, crud.

Oh well.

At least Suramu didn't get hurt too badly.

"Rouxfast City Blues. It's actually a cover from one of my grandpa's favorite singers, Jenny Dash. It is a bit updated for modern tastes. She said she felt like a Temprill trapped in a cage when she couldn't get back to the open skies of her ranch." Agatha refused to think about how much she related to that with her parents pushing her and her newfound fame made her feel. Just push the bad feelings down where they can't hurt you. Just like her mother always said.

Watching Riki win again, Mr. Wiggles hisses something. "I think you're right Mr. Wiggles. Once again, Riki's pure ferocity carries him to a flawless victory. Fiadh and Riki are really becoming the team to beat this tournament."

"Rightly said, Ashley. It seems that a lot of competitors this year just weren't prepared to go up against a giant flaming lizard. I think there's a good chance that Fiadh and her Maguana could go all the way to the champion's podium."

It wasn't too surprising really. A giant flaming lizard was pretty damn scary. Milo continued to watch as the staff began preparations for the next match. He was relieved the ape-like monster had been treated and seemed fine.
