The battle between Calico Carter and Fiadh begins!

The monsters begin the battle 30 ft. from their Wranglers, and 20 ft. from each other.

Monsters gain 2 Rage at the start of each of their turns. Please post your monster's current Health and Rage, as well as distance from the opponent and current status effects, in each of your posts.

You may concede on your turn, and if you have the Overprotective Flaw, you must make your roll to avoid conceding when your monster becomes Bloodied (half health) and when it takes damage while Bloodied. If you have Overconfident, you must pass your roll to concede.

If your monster is damaged past 0 Health, the opponent makes an Injury Roll to see if your monster becomes Injured.

Effortless Flight- Orlok does not have to spend Rage to remain flying during combat

Cryokinesis- After Orlok uses a Technique that deals Psychic Damage to an opponent, that opponent becomes Pinned 2 to a surface, character, or object within 5 feet of its current position (Orlok’s choice)

Internal Heat: At the start of this character's turn, any characters stuck to this character suffer 1 Fire Damage, ignoring Armor.

Smolder: This character suffers no Damage from the Burning status. When this character hits an opponent with a Melee attack, it may lower the value of its Burning status by 1 to make the opponent become Burning 1.

Focus: If this character is Bloodied, after it rolls dice, it may spend 1 Rage to reroll its entire dice pool (including any bonus dice gained from explosions) once per dice roll

Fiadh stood in her box, looking ahead at Riki and the Saturnadus. The Dragon was growling already.

Calico's Turn

Calico took a deep breath, let it out slowly, then called out.

"You know the drill, buddy! Go for the mind, go hard."

Then boogie.

[Calico uses Command: Call out to improve the success value of Orlok's Hypnosis by 1.]

Orlok's Turn.

The saturnadus, his wings fluttering, dwarfed by the maguana and picking up on the Purple Human's tension, agreed with her assessment. This wasn't a foe he could count on winning a physical match with... so very much like most of the monsters he'd faced thus far.

His antennae crackled slightly, as his mind reached out to the maguana's, and found purchase there.

Then he got his wings in gear, flying back toward the Purple Human.

Riki started to feel tired from the effects of the attack. It was exactly how Fiadh had expected it to go from watching the previous rounds. A small growl escaped from Fiadh, and Riki did something different - he backed away.

Calico arched an eyebrow.

"Guess you gotta go get him, buddy- good luck'

Orlok wasn't suuuuuure about this- going AT the big fiery thing? Away from the Purple Human?

But he pressed on, flying further, his atennae sparked, and...

It worked.

Fiadh frowned, before shrugging and moving into the fight area.

"You win" she said simply, giving Riki a hard slap across the face to wake him up.

I... I do, don't I?

Calico hadn't exactly expected a handshake or a smile, but she still nodded to her opponent.

Orlok was less subdued.

His Vasoworth Solution sponsorship necklace glinting, he fluttered up and around the ring, seeming to be checking the stands for someone...

After a few more slaps Riki rose up, looking as confused as a Dragon on fire could. Although not as on fire as normal. Fiadh growled at the Dragon quietly, then reached up to place a hand on the Dragons head.

Another small growl and she let go, looking at the other girl.

"What is bug doing? Not knowing what this is, before not seen anything like."

"I... think he's looking for his mate, actually."

She flushed a bit, but shrugged.

"He's always been kind of a jerk, now he has a mate to show off for. No living with him after this!"

"Not...what this is" Fiadh looked at where the bug flew off to "the...sleep thing. What is?"

"Oh! Uh... it's a kind of hypnosis. He attacks the mind, not the body, when he uses that technique."

"Attack mind?"

Fiadh looked thoughtful, turning to Riki.

"Not know any who do that before. Is something to know for future, will help Riki become stronger in mind."

"Another thing, if it helps? It has a range of about twenty feet. If Riki learns some sort of flame-throwing ability that reaches farther, he'll fare better against it."

There was a nod at that.

"Have seen Riki eldest brother turn place half size of arena into fire pit when angry, not much escape that."

"Well, there you go! He'll get there one of these days."

She paused.

"Any idea what you're going to do with your winnings?"

"What is winnings?" Fiadh asked as she turned back to Riki, giving him a check over which received a growl of annoyance from the Dragon.

"... We get paid. Onz. For first and second place. And there are monster eggs involved?"

"Huh?"

She turned back to Calico.

"We get money and food?"

"We, uh... get money and an egg I think we're supposed to let hatch, since it's for some rare kind of monster?"
