Handing over the dough (D3 LM)

[Calico Carter]

"Hey, I've got the experience. I've also got a bit of a sponsorship deal going if you want some pizza today, instead of watching us wolf it down in front of you..."

[Milo Whitewood]

Milo lifts a hand. "Um, lunch is on me. Go ahead. Besides, I wanted to ask more questions about monsters."

Diva watched Talia show off with mild interest. It was sort of like getting attention herself after all. She then inched forward and pushed her snout into one of Talia's wings to figure out what it was.

[Mara Froste]

'I guess I'll take one.' Mara looked really embarrassed, 'cheese maybe?' I am mooching food money off a kid. What kind of adult am I?

Talia squawked in surprise and wrapped her finger-like claws over Diva's snout. Blitz rumbled a warning at Mara. Mara went to turn and pull Talia away but the taichen settled for lightly stroking the metal snout, as curious as the pup was. After all, today was her first full day out of the marsh.

Orlok's wings snapped wide, but he settled down when it became apparent nobody was going to be fighting. Yet.

[Mara Froste]

Blitz purred at Orlok and licked him comforting, keeping an eye on the other two.

[Calico Carter]

"So. Uhm... what do you two make our odds in today's bout, anyhow?"


[For clarity's sake, this is the day they went up against Desmond and Lucy]

[Mara Froste]

'Orlok's ability to put monsters to sleep is very powerful in this kind of tournament. Since it ends the round immediately they don't get a chance to wake up.'

[Milo Whitewood]

Snip!

"Mozzarella? Sure! I'll get you a couple slices." Milo replies, brightening up and heading to the counter to do just that.

Could a Warwolf smell? It didn't need to breathe, but it could track. It likely could smell. If it could then it was probably having a sniff of Talia's claw right about now. After a few moments it decided Talia was fine and laid down beside her.

At the question, upon his return (and putting the plate with the two slices in front of Mara), he made a thoughtful noise. "You just need to endure. If it was me I'd have Orlok fly close so I could use sprays as he does his thing from a distance. If you're lucky it might also be too far for the opponent's monster to hear any commands. Mara's completely right that it's really powerful for a tournament like this."

[Calico Carter]

"Yeah, but Lucy... did you guys see that rock toss of hers? She's got decent range too... dunno. Zephids have a reputation for being strong-willed, to boot."

[Milo Whitewood]

"It won't be easy. Orlok will need to be really careful." Milo comments as he crosses his arms. "It'd be good if he could hide somewhere."

[Calico Carter]

"That arena's not long on good hiding places, but I suppose he could look for a few..."

[Mara Froste]

'Orlok will do well.' Blitz raised her head and made a short growl of agreement. The feline then headbutted and nuzzled against her favorite bug. 'The rock throw is scary, but I don't know how accurate zephids are with it. Worst case they will stop the match and heal him and I am sure Blitz will come lick his wounds. Every match it seems she wants to join in. If ever there are doubles, I think she's going to insist on fighting beside Orlok.'

Talia used her claws to lightly feel the shape of Diva's head, even sticking the tips in her mouth at one point.

"That'd either be a great combo... or a terrible one. I wonder how their discipline would hold up if they had each other to worry about..."

[Milo Whitewood]

Diva shook her head at the mouth intrusion, but otherwise was pretty chill with Talia's curiosity.

"They're both really close huh?" Milo was out of the loop with the whole Blitz and Orlok thing.

[Calico Carter]

"You... could say that, yeah. Mm-hm."

[Milo Whitewood]

The boy remained oblivious to the pairing.

"That's really nice. They'll be sad when the tournament's over and you go away trapping again."

[Mara Froste]

Mara's mouth opened and closed. Milo's too young and not experienced with living monsters. She wasn't about to be the one to explain that. See, when a bug loves a cat very much... and then the cat lays an egg and... yeah, nope. Her face flushed a bit and she made the briefest awkward expression at Calico. We're surrounded by children.

'They will be. I, erm, had considered finding out what Calico's plans are. At least for the immediate future. Both of us will probably be looking for work and I am sure those two are interested in staying together a bit longer and.... maybe I can cook for us and help her pay off her debt?'

[Calico Carter]

Calico glanced at Mara and smiled.

Now there's a useful change of subject!

"I've got no plans to be in a hurry anywhere else, but my debts are my debts..."

[Mara Froste]

'So that's a yes to my cooking?' Mara teased.

Talia tried to insert a long claw as far back as it would go in the warwolf's mouth, then walked around and looked around at the back end.

Mara winced, and nearly facepalmed. 'Talia, knock it off! That's rude!' ...and more than a little gross. 'Milo, umm, can Diva eat? I think that's what Talia is trying to figure out, or at least I hope it is.'

"I've tasted your cooking, Mara, and only a complete idiot would say no..."
