Spectating spectator seats (Day 1 Early Evening)

[Milo Whitewood]

Diva looked up to watch Orlok go.

When Milo was done he looked over to the trapper and smiled again. "Hey, um, Calico - if you're not busy or if you're unlucky early on, come and find me. I could use some help with finding and bonding to one of the monsters to the south of here. A Nappen or maybe a Staguar." His expression turned thoughtful. "I'm not sure which yet. I'd need to work out how I'd feed them, but I'd like an extra companion for when I travel."

[Calico Carter]

"... I'd like that, I think." She glanced over at where Orlok's antennae were giving away his hiding place. "We met a really nice staguar today, actually. Blitz. She's bonded with Mara Froste. Could be a good person to ask about staguars. Or anything really, she knows her monsters."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Mara Froste? Hmm. Okay. Mara Froste." He repeats the name to help commit it to memory. "It'd be really helpful to speak to someone with a Staguar. What does she look like?"

[Calico Carter]

"She's about my height, green eyes, dark blonde hair about shoulder length, a little younger than I am. And if all else fails, she has a really pretty staguar with her just about all of the time. Or I could introduce you. Even bugly over there seems to like her."

Chitter.

[Milo Whitewood]

"Um, if you don't mind? Hmm." He thought about it a bit. "Maybe I could treat you both to lunch?"

[Calico Carter]

Calico, as-yet unaware that she'd be enjoying a minor windfall (and that Mara was a capable and enthusiastic cook), tried not to jump at the bait too easily.

"Oh, you don't have to, but if you'd like..." She trailed off.

Am I seriously hitting up a kid for lunch money? Oh god.

"Might be a bit late in the day to set it up for tomorrow- I mean, I think we're competing around lunch!- but maybe the day after? Hopefully we'll both still be in, but there's always a late lunch, or..."

[Milo Whitewood]

"We can figure something out." Milo enthuses. He takes out his phone. "Shall we swap phone numbers?"

[Calico Carter]

"Sure!"

Calico paused.

"Or maybe you can just hit my room phone up at the hotel? My cell's kinda..."

Ancient enough it makes a good door stop.

"... unreliable."

[Milo Whitewood]

"But you won't always be at the hotel... Um, I could have reception leave you a message if I know your room number, but it's a bit limited?" Milo didn't really understand Calico's predicament.

Or maybe he did? His mouth opened a little wider for a moment as it dawned on him.

"It's fine if you're busy. There's probably a library or something I can check out instead." He rubbed the back of his head and looked embarrassed.

[Calico Carter]

"No, no, I'm not busy, I just have a really crappy phone. Heavy, too."

She pinched the bridge of her nose.

"I just think the hotel phone is more reliable. I haven't got the budget to go too many other places."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Um, okay." Milo brightens up a little bit. He'd offer his number and check what room Calico was in so he could leave a message or call (if she was in). His own room number is given out too, just in case.

"We're on the same floor. Hmm, I guess most of the competitors are probably on the same floor."

[Calico Carter]

"That would make sense... it's awfully upscale. I can't imagine they want us taking up too varied an assortment. I'll have to show my cell phone sometime. It might weigh as much as you do."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Yeah right." Milo couldn't believe that. "I'm not ten." He laughed good naturedly as he got up. Diva moved to his side for some pats.

"I'm looking forward to the breakfast tomorrow. It's meant to be really good."

[Calico Carter]

And it's FREE!

"I hear that."

She took another look around.

Normally, this was the time of day she'd be headed someplace a little disreputable, but between her finances and the tournament, she was going to have to alter a few habits.

"Good meeting you Milo."

Sincerely.

"Hopefully we all do well tomorrow, yeah?"

[Milo Whitewood]

"You too Calico. I just hope all our monsters are ok and it's a good experience." Milo comments happily. He motions Diva to get up. "Diva, say goodbye too."

The dog-like monster lifted a paw. This had Milo grinning. He wasn't sure Diva would remember the trick.

[Calico Carter]

Calico waved back to the warwolf with a grin, while Orlok fluttered up from behind the chair and flew over to his usual perch on her back.

"Here's hoping we run into each other in the final round!"

[Milo Whitewood]

"Maybe!"

Milo waved to Calico and her monster.

"Have a nice evening."

He signals Diva to follow and then he's off to go get dinner.

[Calico Carter]

I was that young... but a very long time ago.

Calico sighed and glanced over her shoulder into Orlok's eyes.

"Come on, you little twerp. Better head back in before I find some trouble to get in."
