Fight Commentary (Calico Carter vs Desmond Brown) (D3, EA)

[Jason Brooks]

A small table was set up near the arena for the three commentators to discuss the fight and offer their commentary for the fans watching on television.

"Welcome to the second round of The Oceanside Rumble, everyone! I'm Jason Brooks, here with Citaly Velasco and up-and-coming popstar Ashley Elle, here on ANN. Our first match of the day involves Calico Carter versus Desmond Brown. Both competitors put up a good fight yesterday, so we should have a good match today. What are your thoughts, Citaly, Ashley?"

[Milo Whitewood]

Feeling better about the day before after a good night's sleep, Milo was in the arena seating to cheer on the competitors. In this first match that primarily meant Calico as he knew her and her monster Orlok.

"You can do it Calico!"

[Felix Lang]

Felix was there as well. Calico was basically the only person he'd met here in town so he was there cheering her on. "You got this!"

He heard Milo's cheer and approached the young man "Hey Milo wasn't it? How's it going?"

[Milo Whitewood]

"Um, yeah, good thanks. It's Felix, isn't it? Congratulations again." Milo responds a little lamely. He was surprised to see Felix in the stands.

"Aren't you meant to be getting ready for your own match...?" He had to ask. Surely the trainer's Temprill would be keen.

[Felix Lang]

As if on cue the little monster came running up and climbed on Felix's back looking over his shoulder.

"Eh it's good to stretch my legs before a fight, let's the nerves out by moving. Plus Calico is pretty cool and I missed her match yesterday."

"Sorry about how things shook out yesterday. Felt like....bad luck or something was just off. Didn't feel like I really beat you."

[Ashley Elle]

"Well, this is definitely the match of the cuties with Lucy in her pretty blue bow and Orlok's beautiful wings. Zephid's tend to have a strong will. I wonder if Orlok will be able to pull off the same trick as last time or if it will have to find new tactics to fight our ribboned fighter."

[Mara Froste]

Mara cheered, 'Calico! Orlok! You've got this!' The Wrangler had her staguar, Blitz, on her lap and her new monster, Talia, the taichen, sat on one shoulder with her bony wing-claws holding on to Mara's head to steady herself.

'Ma-rowwwwWwwwwwRrrr!' Blitz roared loud encouragement to Orlok, her current mate. It was quite the prideful sound, and a lot of nearby people winced back from the sudden sound.

'Skreeeeeekekekekkk,' Talia, not to be outdone, decided to add a clicking shriek of her own, with little meaning other than I can be loud too! Unfortunately, for Mara, that was right in her ear, and she would spend half the match rubbing at the soreness.

[Milo Whitewood]

Snip...

Diva perked up upon spotting Suramu. However, she didn't really know how to react to a prior opponent so she just watched from where she had laid down.

"You're pretty relaxed." Milo observed with a budding smile. "Yesterday's old news. I'm sorry I called the match so soon. I think Diva wasn't paying attention because of the crowd. She really likes attention and that was our first ever match. It's going to be something we have to work on."

[Jason Brooks]

"Zephid and Saturnadi don't encounter each other very often in the wild, so I suspect these two monsters are looking at each other and trying to figure out just what sort of opponent they're up against." He turns to Ashley. "Speaking of the unknown, Ashley, my daughter Pamela wanted me to get an autograph from you. I have one of your CDs here, if you wouldn't mind...?"

[Fiadh]

Fiadh and Riki had arrived early to watch the fights. She stood towards the edge, never taking her eyes off the arena. Riki had been leaning against a chair which was swiftly taken away after it caught fire, and now was laying down almost sulking.

[Felix Lang]

Snip

His smile was wide and bright "Well heck I'm glad I look relaxed. I'm pretty sure we'll come out on top but still always get a little prefight jitters."

"It was ours too. We've fought a couple wild monsters but thar was our first fight against another wrangler. You got a lot of time too, I'm sure you and Diva will do great things."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Really, that was your first?" He looked surprised. Deep down, he was a bit crestfallen to hear that it was Felix's first match. "Well, um, yeah. I hope so."

[Jason Brooks]

A woman who bears a striking resemblance to Desmond pushes herself over to the announcer's table. "Hi, Jason!" she says, grabbing the microphone away from him and leaning down to speak into it. "I just want to say that my little boy, Desmond, has been training very hard for this match, and he's doing great! Such a little rising star! Let's all cheer for Desmond Brown!"

Jason struggles to get the microphone out of the woman's hands, and she manages one final "Mommy loves you, Desmond!" before he reclaims it and AMBA officials come to escort Mrs. Brown back to her seat.

"It's clear that Mr. Brown has some very excited fans," Jason says, casting an exasperated look at his two co-hosts.

[Ashley Elle]

"Zephid and Saturnadi don't encounter each other very often in the wild, so I suspect these two monsters are looking at each other and trying to figure out just what sort of opponent they're up against." He turns to Ashley. "Speaking of the unknown, Ashley, my daughter Pamela wanted me to get an autograph from you. I have one of your CDs here, if you wouldn't mind...?"

"Absolutely, I love to." Ashley signs it:

"Well you heard it folks. Desmond is a dedicated trainer. And he's showing it with that rock throw. But it looks like Orlocks mind abilities are starting to take hold. The battle of the cuties is still up in the air. Literally."

"Absolutely, I love to." Ashley signs it:

She hands it back and then...

"Thank you, Ashley Elle!" He tucks the signature back into his coat and turns his attention back to the fight. "Folks, this fight is definitely one for the record books. Desmond and his Zephid are putting pressure on Calico and her Saturnadus, but they're trying to hold out as best they can. Calico has given a bit more life to the match with a well-timed healing spray, but Orlok is loosing a lot of blood out there. Lucy is built for going the distance, so she's going to have to finish this quickly if she wants to advance to the semi-finals."

[Milo Whitewood]

"Yeah, go Orlok! Woo! Nice Calico!" Milo calls out as Calico secures her win. It had been a gripping back and forth match!

[Jason Brooks]

"That was a fight for the history books, folks! With that win, Calico and Orlok advance to the semi-finals!"

[Calico Carter]

Vasoworth Solutions reps could be seen gleefully writing ad copy to use with fight footage detailing how a team they'd sponsored had used their products to secure victory.
