[D3 EE] A Night Out

[Felix Lang]

"Same. Well minus the bookie stuff. Already out of the tournament here so not getting any payday from that. Might need to find some jobs around town to get something in my pocket."

"Plus need to get Suramu back into training, we might be out but I definitely learned a bunch here." A happy smile on his lips.

[Calico Carter]

Calico made a face. Her own tournament standing was still technically up in the air due to combat threads being way more complicated than chats.

"I don't see myself going into the tournament gig full-time. For one thing, it seems draining. For another, with my rep..."

She shuddered.

"I suppose I could go to Rosalia and play an 'evil foreigner' in their league..."

[Felix Lang]

"Well the villains are always the hottest so I think that fits." He says with a little chuckle looking over at her.

He turned his eyes forward again "Yeah not sure about it either honestly it's concerning seeing your friend be in that level of danger. Like I've fought before but I was just fighting other dudes, not giant flaming lizards and death machines."

"But Suramu likes it. Even if it's been hit or miss, he gets really excited training and fighting."

They had gotten to a section of stalls and booths some crying wares and some offering services, there was a smell of cooking food, meat and spices floating in the air so some of the stalls seemingly also were serving street food.

[Calico Carter]

"I just need a domino mask and some nefarious designs in Rosalia then, well... I'll get right on that..."

She sighed.

"But I hear you. It's rough putting Orlok out there to get kicked around. I, uh... don't really fight, for my part. Always been more of a 'run like hell' type. But we have to remember, they're tough."

She sniffed the air unapologetically.

"So, uhm, I suddenly find myself dazzled by the options. What would you recommend?"

[Felix Lang]

"They are." He agreed.

He grinned at her sniffing the air, it was a rather pleasant smell. He did the same "mmm I can understand why. But hey I'm as new here as you this is a food adventure we go on together." His smile was warm and bright.

"Hmmmm. Ooo what about that?" He pointed to one stall that seemed to be offering street tacos. Seemingly with a few different meat options.

[Calico Carter]

"Just remember Carter's Rule of Food Trucks- the pot is bubbling, it's okay. If it's not.... maybe something else."

But she was heading right for it.

[Felix Lang]

"Carter's rule eh? Learn some lessons the hard way?" He asked with a smirk as they approach the stand.

It appeared they had tacos made from spiced chicken, pork and a pulled beef that seemed to be stewed in a red broth. The pot was indeed bubbling.

The man working the stand smiled wide "Oh you have great taste! Or a good sense of smell!" He laughed "what can I get you? We've got chicken, beef, pork best tacos you'll have in Crayton!"

Felix gave the man a smile and chuckle at his enthusiasm "I'll have a pair of chicken tacos and the lady will have....?" He looked to Calico for her to order

[Calico Carter]

"Let us simply say that the difference between good judgment and bad judgment is experience, and most experience comes from bad judgment..."

And then it was time to order.

"One chicken, one pork, heavy on the onions, please."

She smiled.

[Felix Lang]

The cook shakes his knife at Calico with a good natured chuckle "ahhh this one, good taste!" He said as he started preparing their order.

Felix turned to Calico lip upturned just a bit in the corner "So, dance huh? You had a particular style?"

[Calico Carter]

"A bit of this, a bit of that. Ballet as a foundation- not really my go-to style, but it's a superb foundation."

She made a dismissive gesture.

"I'm pretty rusty now, though. Barely managed a minuet on the beach the other night."

[Felix Lang]

"Minuet on the Beach sounds like a drink." He said absently for a moment "but hey I don't even know what that is and dancing on a beach sounds hard with all the sand. So your rusty is way better than whatever I have going on there."

[Calico Carter]

"Knowing how to move is a big part of it. You seem to have that down. The rest is... expression.

[Felix Lang]

He raised an eyebrow, expression amused "You think I know how to move eh? You just that good at reading people or could tell that from my clumsy scrambling after Suramu?"

[Calico Carter]

"More for the Dance of 'Oh God, There Were Hergh Up Here!' that we both got to do the other day..."

[Felix Lang]

"Ugh I had almost forgotten." He pressed a palm to his forehead and gave a rueful laugh. He shook his head, I think I had to take three showers before I felt clean again. I know it's not their fault but they're just so gross."

The vendor shouted out "my friends they are ready!"

"A wonderful memory to start a meal on." He grinned

Felix went up and grabbed them paying the man and returning to Calico handing her a small thin cardboard basket with two tacos piled with meat and onions as well as other herbs and spices evident in their smell.

[Calico Carter]

"Okay, now this... this smells killer."

She glanced sidelong at Felix.

"Unlike hergh puke."

That somewhat playful jab delivered, she took a big bite of the pork taco.

"Yeah. Think we got a winner here."

[Felix Lang]

He stuck his tongue out at her and smiled as he took a Bute of his own food making an appreciative sound. He nodded to a bench nearby at the edge of the plaza.

"Wanna take a seat or walk and eat?"

[Calico Carter]

"Oh, we oughtta sit down for this, walk after. Anyway... how's your leg?"

[Felix Lang]

"Hm?" He'd ask as they walked over to the bench and sat "Oh its fine, well, about as fine as it always is. Usually doesn't bother me much unless I try and run."

[Calico Carter]

"Mind if I asked how it happened?"
