[D3 EE] A Night Out

[Felix Lang]

"Whew." He said after swallowing a bite "heh, well that is a story of bad decisions with bad outcomes."

"I think I mentioned, or at least kinda hinted that I used to be a fighter." He motioned to his leg "not a gentle sport especially when you're young and more stubborn than smart."

"I was a prodigy, trained from like thirteen, did amature stuff at seventeen, had a breakthrough match with the major league at eighteen and didn't know when to quit." There was pain in the memory but he smiled when he looked back up

"there are more details if you want to know but that's the short of it and it led me here so" He shrugged "can't hate it too much." He took another bite of the taco.

[Calico Carter]

She pondered that as she worked on her own taco.

"So you at least kinda know what it's like for Suramu in there. Don't think anyone else here has ever fought in an arena."

A pause.

"That's kinda cool."

[Felix Lang]

He smiled at her maybe a a slight blush along his cheeks He nodded "I do a bit, I guess. Like I said before never had to fight dragons but I guess I also couldn't make lightning shoot out of my fists." He laughed a little.

"It was fun though."

[Calico Carter]

"Fighting, or coaching Suramu?"

[Felix Lang]

He thought for a moment "yes." Finishing off a taco.

"How are you feeling about the tournament? I know you were worried about some things. You're doing great so far."

[Calico Carter]

"Still worried, 'cause we've got one more round to win before we can even think about second place, and both fights so far have been touch and go. Orlok fights well, but we've also just been lucky. And without those heal sprays, Lucy would have won."

She sighed.

"And I feel bad for Desmond. Lucy should have at least made the semifinals. She's tough as hell."

[Felix Lang]

He nodded "I think you have what it takes to go all the way. You're a good trainer, better than I am for sure. That hypnosis trick is dangerous and I think today showed its not the only trick you guys have up your sleeve."

[Calico Carter]

"Lucy's got a will of iron. I was amazed it worked as well as it did on her. And I honestly think she could have pulled if off if Desmond hadn't gotten worried about her."

She shrugged.

"Anyway, tomorrow we get a fiery plant. That should be something."

[Felix Lang]

"Sounds like a fun time. Don't know too much about those things, match should be interesting but if you can hypnotize a robot I'm sure you can do it to a plant too."

[Calico Carter]

"I sure hope so, Orlok's actually pretty fragile in terms of taking punishment."

She chuckled.

"Even if he likes to act tough."

[Felix Lang]

"He is a scrappy little guy isn't he. Reminds me of Suramu that way." He chuckled "hell or even a young me." He laughed a little harder.

"I have faith you'll get it done."

[Calico Carter]

"I suppose we'll see."

The pork taco was kaput, on to the chicken!

"Got a bit of a question... what's next for you guys, anyhow?""

[Felix Lang]

Felix was halfway through his hus second taco when she asked that he thought for a moment chewing slowly.

He swallowed and then gave a profound shrug "You know I'm not sure, washed out a little earlier than I thought. For now I'm just sort of seeing what happens. Don't plan on going ack to Varsole yet but also have no way of making consistent onz. I'll probably stick around here for the time being town seems cool."

He grinned "plus there's this really awesome woman in town that I want to get to know better."

[Calico Carter]

She arched an eyebrow.

"Maybe we'll form a gang, you, me, Mara, that's at least three of us, with four monsters between us. Begin a reign of terror..."

[Felix Lang]

He thought for a moment a hand coming to his chin "Forming a gang I like, though I'd prefer if our reign of terror targeted like the rich or something. You know redistribution of wealth and all that jazz." He chuckled

"Think you'll ever pick up another monster or is Orlok the one for you?"

[Calico Carter]

"I'd like at least one more, so the little jerk has someone else to play with."

She shuddered.

"Like, I'm being optimistic, but I'm fully prepared for him to have ripped one of my shirts into a sort of nest in my absence."

[Felix Lang]

He smiles sympathetically "You know you could have brought him along, i wouldnt have minded."

"But I'd like a pair too I'm sure when Suramu becomes an adult I won't want to be his sparring partner anymore. Or I'll need to invest in a rubber suit."

[Calico Carter]

"Rubber suit? Kinky."

She sounded amused.

"Far as bringing Orlok, it's... I feel responsible for him, you know? So bringing him, he'd be, like..."

She widened her eyes and stared at Felix without blinking.

"And then he'd crawl around looking for a good hiding spot."

[Felix Lang]

"I suppose if you're into it. Usually too much squeaking for my taste." He replied with equal amuesment.

"A good hiding spot for what? Hunting?" Felix asked cooking his head to one side.

[Calico Carter]

"Hunting, avoiding predators, dropping down to startle the hell out of someone because he seems to find it funny..."

She laughed.

"I keep telling everyone what a jerk he is."
