[D3 EE] A Night Out

[Felix Lang]

He laughs with her "I guess I'll have to take your word for it for now. Only time I saw him he just sort of looked at me."

As the sun dipped below the horizon the temperature had begun to drop with it not cold but certainly a brisk evening as the street lights illuminated changing the feel in the plaza a bit.

[Calico Carter]

"Probably doing his, 'how much blood in this one' assessment."

She looked Felix over, from head to toe.

"And then maybe thinking over how much you might miss if he whammied you and had a sip."

[Felix Lang]

"I reckon quite a lot of blood in me as big as I am. Not sure how much I have to spare though." He grinned back as she gave him a once over.

"He definitely have to whammy Suramu too though, can't imagine the little guy would just sit there and let Orlok feed on me." He chuckled a little "I'm sure the hotel wouldn't love lightning zapping through the hallways."

[Calico Carter]

"Lightning, hoarfrost, everybody dazzled..."

[Felix Lang]

"Hell of a way to start things by getting kicked out of the hotel. Camping would be far less comfortable."

[Calico Carter]

"And we'd miss the free breakfasts."

[Felix Lang]

"And certainly neither of us and afford to miss anything free."

[Calico Carter]

"Amen to that. Speaking of which..."

She finished the second taco.

"Good choice on dinner."

[Felix Lang]

"I'll have to credit luck as much as anything. But it was one of the better meals I've had in a while. Field rations keep you going but can't say much for the taste."

[Calico Carter]

"But hey, hardtack is great, if you can't eat it, you can always build a shelter out of it..."

[Felix Lang]

"If you haven't made a hardback shelter can you really even say you've been roughing it?" He grinned a little

[Calico Carter]

"And best of all, when it gets wet, you can eat some of it before it gets moldy!"

[Felix Lang]

Felix pulled a face but then smiled with a soft chuckle "ugh I gotta hope I never get in that bad of a way." He shook his head a bit before stretching a little.

"Well want to walk off those tacos a little? It's a really pretty town from what I've seen so far, great ocean views in a lot of places."

[Calico Carter]

"Sounds good to me. After all, the night is young..."

[Felix Lang]

"Perfect." He smiled as he stood and casually offered her his hand. Should she take it he would move to smoothly turn it from a hand up into a hand hold as they moved through the streets.

Regardless he would start walking along a random path.

She noticed the hand. Almost took it.

Almost.

Because her mind was racing.

Learning to be careful at this point in your life, Calico?

Yes, Calico, I thought I might. It's technically our first date, after all, and that's kind of... a step.

But you admit it's a date.

Well, yeah. Yeah, it's a date. But we're not dating yet, if that makes any sense...

So quit screwing around and come up with something else.

She didn't take his hand. But as he led off, she nudged him with her shoulder.

"Headed anywhere in particular?"

[Felix Lang]

If her passing on his hand had dampened his spirits any he didn't give any indication of it and when she bumped into him he smirked down bumped back lightly "No not really, I've only been here a couple days not really sure where I would want to head at this point. Just sort of walking, exploring." He smiled, it might have been a touch more reserved.

always a little too gung ho aren't ya?

"I always like getting a town under my feet when I hit it. You know, before my rep catches up and I have to be a bit more careful."

She sighed.

"Think my time for that's almost up here, actually, but... I could meander. Y'know?"

[Felix Lang]

He nodded "I think I get it. Obviously not the same but I can see what you mean at least."

"So you've travelled around a lot then? Been constantly on the move since the incident?"

[Calico Carter]

"More or less. I mean, Amoria's a pretty big country and so is Arensa. And rep or not, people tend to tolerate someone who can do a bit of pest control, at least for a while, but... yeah, kinda hard to settle down if you don't want to deal with all the hairy eyeballs and conversations ending when you walk into a room."
