[Day 6, Late Night] The Midnight Oil (Ask)

[Felix Lang]

Felix looked contemplative for a moment "wow, yeah that's a lot to consider. Travelling with a kid usually complicates things but he's already on his own now right?"

Milo seemed like a good kid far as he could tell. The money part didn't even really register with Felix.

[Mara Froste]

'I think he said something about wanting to travel the grasslands a little with someone, so it may be more making a future safe home to return to?' Mara didn't know all the details. 'I am willing to cook for whomever comes along and take care of anyone who needs help.'

[Calico Carter]

"He's got an aunt looking after him. Before we make a pitch to her, I'd like us to be able to demonstrate that it's meant as a chance for him to do his own thing, not a chance for us to use his funds to do our thing..."

[Felix Lang]

"Well yeah I mean why would we even use his money for stuff? Like he'd just need to be able to pay for his end of things, but none of his money would be going to the business."

[Mara Froste]

The breeder took another sip, 'Still best for us to get things stable. We are going to have a good number of mouths to feed.' Mara leaned against Calico, feeling a little warm all of a sudden, her cheeks flushed.

[Calico Carter]

Eep!

"Uh... yeah. Point is, I'd like to include Milo in some way, but we need to be really careful about it. I'm less... concerned about inviting Rayfe to get involved on some level, but we still need to get... solvent. Not set, just... ahead, y'know?"

[Felix Lang]

"Well yeah need to get on our feet before we try and ask a kid's guardian if they can travel with us." He said with a chuckle as he took another drink.

"Need to figure out what that looks like I'd say. Right now it's a lot of ideas but we have to make decisions before we can gameplan."

"I'm happy to help, but as far as what I offer it's mostly a budding interest in training and a whole lot of ability to move and build things."

[Mara Froste]

'There should be a lot of young monsters in need of training soon. You'll help show them all the ropes, Felix? Where we build it is a big decision. How much we need to save is another.' Her thoughts were still mostly coherent despite the fast she was clearly getting a bit tipsy.

[Calico Carter]

"Well. Good news is, I should be shed of my debts, as of, well... tomorrow. Thinking we maybe hit another couple of tournaments- and even if we don't win, we shoot for some short-term sponsorships like the one I snagged for this tournament."

Sip.

"And keep tackling odd jobs, I pulled down something like sixty onz in less than a week just doing local pest control." I figure that if we all plug away at it, maybe let Mara hold the money and shop for a good site, we'll be under way..."

Less of a sip, more of a gulp.

"An' hey, if you guys have ideas for raising more faster, I'm all ears!"

They were her friends after all. Good friends.

[Mara Froste]

'I'm thinking we should consider moving on from here soon. Odd jobs tend to dry up fast and I don't want to catch the ire of my mother or her company. Felix, do you have any ideas on where would be a good next stop?'

[Felix Lang]

He drank and smiled and chuckled along "yeah, yeah, I got a lot to learn but I'll whip those monsters into shape."

Felix took another drink and set the glass down thinking about it "Oh man! A lot of possibilities, I mean do you want to leave the country? Or just the city? We could head toward the capital big city like that will gotta have lots of jobs we can do and more tournaments for our lovely battle expert to ace." He finished with a chuckle his cheeks were getting a little pink, he was big but he couldn't remember the last time he drank. Or the last time he met such cool people, or had this much fun!

[Calico Carter]

"Amoria might be best avoided for the time being... I gotta either clear my name or build a new rep, an' neither one seems... likely, short-term."

She stretched a bit where she sat. And had another sip.

"But! Staying in thish- this country but dodging Mara's family could be tricky- but also fun."

[Mara Froste]

'A-as long as we don't sshtay in one spot too long we might be ok. The capital might be a good opsshun at leassht for a bit.' Mara glass was empty, or had been, it appeared to have regenerated. She stretched and leaned against her friend.

'Wherever you like, I'll go with you.' Mara whispered in Calico's ear.

[Calico Carter]

EEEEEEeeeeeeep.

Goosebumps feel funny when you're tipsy...

[Felix Lang]

"We can dodge around here but we gotta find a permanent place if we want to really ya know like build something. So Arensa out, Amoria out, Rosalia doesn't like foreigners so probably not......" He thought for a minute "ooo oooo I travelled through Revara a bit and it was pretty nice!" Another drink

"Like, long term obviously. Can definitely start hearing to the capital and making some more money." He went for another drink but the glass was empty he shrugged setting it down.

"Lots of possibilities really. With two great partners like you guys we can do anything!"

[Mara Froste]

Mara raised her glass to that. 'I think so too. Calico has great taste in partners.'

'I've never been to Revara, but maybe by the time we get there we'll have enough saved up to start things up.' The glass is empty. Is it the first or second? A third? A little dizzy...

[Calico Carter]

"Tryna thing if I know anyone there..."

She refilled Mara's glass. It was the thing to do.

"Felix! More?"

[Felix Lang]

"Of course!" He held his own glass up to accept more drink, wise decision? Probably not but this was a celebration!

He took a drink of the fresh glass and sighed out happily as he relaxed back "w-we got a real shot at making something great here guys, I'm realllllly excited to be part of this."

[Mara Froste]

'I'm really happy to be with you two. This feels like a great move for the future.' Mara happily snuggled against Calico as the liquor hit her.

[Calico Carter]

"Just nice to be with... trustworthy people. LIke... not gonna try'n sell our monsters for food, or whatever or... anyway."

Mara was warm. Warm was good.

"Felix? Y'comfy?"
